The Four Freshmen

Biography

Bob Ferreira has much to celebrate. They year 2005 marks his 13 years as fourth-part singer and drummer with the Four Freshmen. Born July 21, 1970, in the town of Somerville, Massachusetts. When he was a toddler, his family relocated to the suburbs of Seattle, Washington where Ferreira attended when he jokingly refers to as “1970’s public school”. It was there Ferreira claims he enjoyed a variety of exciting educational experiences such as “mathematics” and even more fun – “English”

It wasn’t until his sophomore year in high school that Ferreira discovered his gift for music with the suggestion from one of his buddies to start a band. It was then that he began taking drum lessons. He and his buddies decided to join their high school choir to work on their vocals. “we wanted background vocals for our band, but more importantly, we wanted out lead singer to get some voice lessons because he stunk! Turns out he was tone deaf! Poor guy; we didn’t know”, Ferreira laments playfully. Ferreira studied classical voice training in his few years of college, auditioned for the Freshmen in ’92 and has been with the group ever since. He is currently calling Las Vegas home. Ferriera cites Mel Torme, marl Murphy, and Toots Thielesmans as his musical influence.
